SBI PO 2014 Exam Review, Cutoff, Results & Interview

SBI conducted the Probationary Officers online written exam for the recruitment of 1837 vacancies in State Bank of India on 14th and 15th June, 2014. Another exams would be conducted on 21st and 22nd June, 2014. You can read the full recruitment details here.

SBI PO 2014 EXAM REVIEW/Analysis:

The online exam was of 2 hours and had 200 questions. Check out the details analysis below:

    English Language : Almost similar to previous years’ exams. But with little higher difficulty level and time consuming. So the cutoff will be similar or little less when compared to last years’ exams.

  • General Awareness / Marketing / Computer Knowledge : The easiest section in this exam as compared to previous years’ exams. Only few questions from current affairs. A person with basic knowledge can also clear this section.
  • Reasoning : Moderate to heave section in difficulty. Questions were time consuming. Just like all IBPS exams.
  • Data Interpretation : Last year this was the easiest section but this time, it was very time consuming. As the exam was online, it created more problems.
  • Descriptive Test :  No tricky questions. Same pattern and same cutoffs from ages.

State Bank of India(SBI) released the notification for the recruitment of 1837 vacancies of Probationary Officers in 2014. You can read the SBI PO 2014 notification here.

SBI PO 2014 PAPER PATTERN & SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Phase-I Examination consisting Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks.
The Objective Test will be online. Immediately after online Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. Cadidates will have to answer Descriptive Test on paper/Pen mode.
(i) The Objective Test with 2 hour duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 Objective Test:
marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:
a) Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
c) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
d) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
(ii) The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50marks) will be of “Test Descriptive Test: of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay)”.
The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.

Phase II Exam consists of Group Discussion and Interview.

1) Fast Track Objective Arithmetic by Arihant: As this section in the SBI PO exam will be related to Data Analysis and Interpretation but for that, you need to clear your basics of mathematics. This is great book for Mathematics to improve your speed and efficiency with thousands of shortcuts. SBI PO 2013 Cutoff – Written Exam and Interview

SBI last conducted RECRUITMENT OF PROBATIONARY OFFICERS IN STATE BANK OF INDIA in 2013. The Written Examination was held on April 28, 2014 followed by Group Discussion and Interview held in July 2013.

Paper Pattern:

Phase 1:

This time SBI will conduct online exam. of 200 marks. There is a Descriptive Test of 50 marks after online exam. Which is the test of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay)”.

The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Online Exam will consist of four sections with 50 marks each:

Phase 2:

SBI PO 2013 Final Marks List

SBI has released the final marks list of all the candidates who appeared for the Probationary Officers(PO) examination. SBI conducted the written exam(Objective+Descriptive) on April 28, 2013 for the selection of Probationary officers. The shortliested candidates were called for GD and interview.

SBI PO 2013 CutOff, Analysis, Results & Selection Procedure

State Bank of India(SBI) conducted the written exam for the selection of Probationary Officers(PO) in SBI on April 28, 2013. The written exam was conducted in two sessions i.e. Morning and Evening. There was an objective type written test consisting of 200 marks(200 questions divided into 4 sections) followed by a descriptive test of 50 marks. More than 17 lacs candidates from over India applied for this exam. You can read more about SBI PO 2013 official notification here. There are total of 1,500 vacancies.

SBI PO 2013 – Written Exam Analysis:

Data Sufficiency: As expected, there were not much proper mathematics questions except 1 or 2 but most of the questions were from the Data Interpretation and Sufficiency. This was one of the easiest section of today’s exam as the questions were pretty straight forward with minimal shortcuts required.

English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness: Both the sections were average in difficulty as some of the questions were pretty easy, summed up with some tricky questions. General Awareness section was easier than it was expected before the exam.

Reasoning: As always, Reasoning was the difficult and time consuming section of all. Questions of arrangement again took the lot of time of students.

Verdict: Overall, the difficulty level of exam was average. Definitely, it was easier than the last year’s exam.

Selection Process in SBI PO 2013:

Phase 1: The candidates are required to qualify in the objective tests by securing passing marks, in each of the tests, to be decided by SBI, on the basis of competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level for each category. There will be sectional cut off and a overall cut off.

Descriptive Test of only those candidates will be evaluated who will qualify objective test. There will be minimum cut off in descriptive test too like the objective written exam.

To call the candidates for interview, the aggregate marks of both objective test and descriptive test will be considered i.e. from total of 250 marks.

Phase 2: Three times the number of vacancies would be called for GD and interview. Group Discussion of 20 marks followed by interview of 30 marks.

SBI PO Cutoff 2013:

The minimum cut off for General candidates to be called for GD and interview is expected to be more than 125-130 marks this time around as the exam was relatively easier than the last year’s. Last year, the marks secured in the written test by the last candidates who were called for GD & interview are as follows:

General: 110
OBC: 99
SC: 88
ST: 88
OH/VH: 88

SBI PO Result 2013:

The result of SBI PO 2013 is expected to be announced in a month or two. As the exam was conducted offline and there was a descriptive test also, so the result processing might take some time. Till then, you can check out SSC CGL 2013 Question papers and answer keys.

Download SBI PO Admit Card/Hall Ticket 2013

State Bank of India (SBI) is conducting the Probationary Officers(PO) exam in 2013 to fill its 1500 vacancies all over India.
More than 17 lakhs candidates have applied for the SBI PO recruitment 2013. This is a huge number considering that there are only 1500 vacancies. So, candidates should expect lot of competition in this exam. The SBI PO examination would consist 200 objective type questions divided in five sections viz. General Awareness, English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, & Computer Awareness. Total time would be of two hours.
The SBI PO exam date is April 28, 2013.

The SBI Admit card Download Link was available on April 2, 2013 but it seems State Bank of India has taken it down on April 3, 2013 in the evening. According to various sources, the SBI PO Call letter download link would again be available on April 8, 2013.

SBI recently published the recruitment of PO(Probationary Officer) 2013 in a public notice on its official website. State Bank of India invited the applications for the fulfillment of 1500 PO vacancies all over India. SBI is one of the most premier public sector bank in India. The first preference for most of the aspiring candidates of PO post is State Bank of India. But getting selected in SBI is no easy deal.
For starters, SBI test is not conducted by IBPS unlike other public sector banks. SBI conducts its own separate test for the recruitment of PO’s ad clerks. SBI PO(Probationary Officer) Recruitment 2013 notice published today on the State Bank of India website. SBI invites application from the eligible Indian candidates for the appointment of Probationary Officer in State Bank of India. There are total of 1500 vacancies in SBI PO this year.

Selection Process:

The objective written examination(200 marks) with 2 hour duration will consists of 200 questions divided into four sections of 50 marks each viz. English, Reasoning, ‘Data Analysis & Interpretation’ and “General Awareness, Marketing & Computers”.
The descriptive test(50 marks) would be of 1 hour duration, and would consists of English Language.

Phase 2: Group Discussion(20 Marks) and Interview(30 Marks)

Final selection will be made on the basis of both phase 1 and 2. Marks secured by the candidate in the written test(out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in the Group discussion and interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 50. Then, a merit list will be prepared and final selection will be made.
