Best Books for RBI Grade B Officers Exam 2014

RBI is going to conduct the RBI Grade B officers exam 2014 for the recruitment in Reserve Bank of India. There are 117 vacancies for Grade B Officers this time.

Selection Process:

This is three phase selection process that includes:

1) Online Objective Exam
2) Subjective/Descriptive Exam Exam
3) Interview

A) Phase 1 – Online Objective Exam:

This Paper for 200 marks will be held on August 2/3/9/10, 2014. The Paper consists tests of i) General Awareness ii) English Language iii) Quantitative Aptitude and iv) Reasoning, with composite time of 130 minutes.

A) English Language:

1) General English by Lucent Publications: This is by far the best book available in the market for the preparation of all entrance exams. The content in this book is written in both English and Hindi language for easy understanding. All the concepts are explained in a crystal clear and step by step manner. Hundreds of rules of English grammar are given in this book chapter wise, so you will cover each and every aspect of English language.

2) Objective General English by SP Bakshi: Another best book to prepare for Objective English. All the topics are explained in a very clear and sequential manner. But personally, I’d prefer Lucent book.

B) General Intelligence and Reasoning:

1) A Modern Approach To Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal: The best and only book you need to prepare for this section. Every topic is covered in detail in this book. This book is good for high level reasoning as required in RBI Grade B Officers exam.

2) The Hand on Guide to Analytical Reasoning and Logical Reasoning: A Must have Resource for Aspirants of CAT, MAT, XAT, IIFT, CMAT, CSAT, SBI PO, Bank Clerk, SSC: This is another best book for high level reasoning learning and practice.

C) Quantitative Aptitude:

1) Fast Track Objective Arithmetic by Arihant: This is great book for Mathematics to improve your speed and efficiency with thousands of shortcuts. It covers all the topics with so many formulas, concepts, shortcuts, examples and thousands of questions to practice.

D) General Awareness:

1) Guide to Banking General Awareness and Banking Aptitude Test: Most of the questions in this section would be related to economy and banking(current affairs and general information) in RBI Grade B Officers exam. Great book for banking awareness section. It contains more than 1,000 questions for the preparation of Banking awareness section.

2) General Knowledge 2014: Essential ‘Knowledge Capsule’ in General Awareness and Current Affairs by Manohar Pandey(Arihant Publications) I strongly recommend this book as you can do it within a week and it covers the entire General awareness in a concise manner.

E) RBI GRADE – B OFFICERS’ EXAM PHASE – I Objective Type PRACTICE WORK BOOK : A must have practice book.

B) Phase 2 – Descriptive/Subjective Exam: The shortlisted candidates after the objective exam would be called for descriptive exam. It includes three papers:

(i) Paper I – English
(ii) Paper II – Economic and Social Issues
(iii) Paper III – Finance & Management.

Each of these three descriptive papers is of 3 hours duration and carries 100 marks.

1) Descriptive General English by SP Bakshi: This amazing book covers many letters, essays, precis, reports, etc. in a very detailed manner. This is THE MUST BUY BOOK for descriptive portion.

RBI Grade B Officers Recruitment 2014(117 Vacancies)- Notification, Paper Pattern & Apply Online

Reserve Bank of India(RBI) invites applications from the eligible candidates for the recruitment of 117 post of Grade B Officers in the central bank of India i.e. RBI.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Age: 21-30 years as on 1.6.2014.

Educational Qualifications (as on 01/06/2014): i) A First Class Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade, in aggregate of all semesters / years ; OR ii) A Second Class Master’s Degree with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade, in aggregate of all semesters / years; OR iii) A Doctorate Degree; with minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade, in aggregate of all semesters / years in Master’s Degree; OR iv) Chartered/Cost Accountant/Company Secretary (ACS) with a Bachelor’s Degree; OR v) A Post Graduate Diploma in Management / MBA qualification from institutions recognized by Government of India / University Grants Commission, with Graduation / Bachelor’s Degree.

Scheme of Selection: Selection will be through Examinations and Interview. Examinations will be held in two phases [Phase-I ON-LINE Examination (Objective Type) and Phase-II Written Examination (Descriptive type)] as under:

(I) Phase-I ON-LINE Examination (Objective Type): This Paper for 200 marks will be held on August 2/3/9/10, 2014. The Paper consists tests of i) General Awareness ii) English Language iii) Quantitative Aptitude and iv) Reasoning, with composite time of 130 minutes.

Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as aggregate, as prescribed by the Board.

(II) Phase-II Written Examination (Descriptive Type): The Phase-II Written Examination (WE) will be conducted in September/ October 2014 (tentative) only for those candidates who are shortlisted for the same. The date and time-table will be intimated to the candidates concerned at the appropriate time. The Examination will consist of three Descriptive Type papers – (i) Paper I – English (ii) Paper II – Economic and Social Issues and (iii) Paper III – Finance and Management. Each of these papers is of 3 hours duration carrying 100 marks.

Final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in Phase-II of the Examination and Interview taken together.
