IBPS CWE Specialist Officer(SO) Exam 2013: Syllabus and Paper Pattern
IBPS(Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is conducting the second Specialist Officer(SO) recruitment exam this year in March, 2013. Though many students are still complaining that none of the banks has published a single vacancy for many of the profiles of Specialist officer last year but this time around, it is expected that a large number of vacancies will be published. An online written test will be conducted for the Specialist Officer recruitment.
Below I’ve shared the Syllabus and Paper pattern of IBPS CWE Specialist Officer(SO) Exam 2013:

1. ENGLISH LANGUAGE (25 marks, 50 questions)
Vocabulary(Synonyms, Antonyms, One Word Substitution,etc.), English Comprehension, Common Errors in English, Grammar(Active-Passive Voice, Direct-Indirect Speech, etc.), Idioms, Phrases, etc.
2. LOGICAL REASONING (50 marks, 50 questions)
Verbal Reasoning: Analogy, Sitting Arrangement, Series Completion, Coding Decoding, Blood Relation, Syllogism, Decision Making, Statement Reasoning
Non-verbal Reasoning: Series Completion, Analogy, and Classification
3. QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE (50 marks, 50 questions)
Arithmetic: Numbers, Average, Surds & Indices, Percentage, Compound Interest, Stocks & Shares, Clocks, Logarithms Profit and Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Partnership, Mensuration, Volume & Surface Area, Chain Rule, Time & Work, Problems on Trains, Boats & Streams, Pipes & Cisterns, Time & Distance, Alligation, Simple Interest, Permutation & combination, Probability, Heights & Distances
Data Interpretation: Tabulation, Bar Graphs, Line Graphs, Pie Charts
4. Professional Knowledge(75 Marks, 50 questions): It will include questions related to your main subject and profile you’re applying for.

The written test will be of two hours. There will be a penalty for wrong answer. For each wrong answer, there will be a deduction of one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question.
Cut-Off: Each candidate will have to score a minimum standard score in each of the section as well as on the Total Weighted Score to be called for interview. Try to score as many marks as possible in the written examination as it will help you in the final selection after interview.
