Staff Selection Commission(SSC) invites applications for the Stenographer Limited Departmental Competitive Examination to be held on 12.05.2013 at DELHI, ALLAHABAD, KOLKATA, GUWAHATI, MUMBAI, BANGALORE, CHENNAI, CHANDIGARH & RAIPUR in accordance with the enclosed rules framed and already notified in the Gazette of India by the Department of Personnel and Training vide notification dated 11.05.1971 for making additions to the Select List for Grade ‘C’.

Stenographers of the following Services/Cadres, subject to availability of confirmed number of vacancies:-

(i) Central Secretariat Stenographers Service Grade ‘C’;

(ii) Stenographers Cadre of Indian Foreign Service (B) Grade-II;

(iii) Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers Service Grade ‘C’;

(iv) Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service Grade ‘C’;

(v) Election Commission of India Stenographers Service Grade ‘C’;
(vi) Central Vigilance Commission Stenographers service Grade ‘C’;

Examination Pattern:

The Part A written examination would consists of 200 questions in 2 hours from two sections i.e. (a) General Awareness and (b)Comprehension and writing ability of English Language.

It will be followed Part B SHORTHAND SKILL TEST IN HINDI OR IN ENGLISH (FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY
IN THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION)- 200 MARKS.

PART C: EVALUATION OF RECORD OF SERVICE OF SUCH OF THE CANDIDATES, AS MAY BE DECIDED BY THE COMMISSION IN THEIR DISCRETION ON THE BASIS OF PERFORMANCE IN WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND STENOGRAPHY SKILL TEST CARRYING A MAXIMUM OF 100 MARKS.
