Trick to Remember Nationalization Date of Banks (19 Banks)

There are total 26 banks nationalized in India that consists of 20 different banks and 6 banks under SBI Group. Among these 26 banks 14 banks were nationalized on July 19, 1969 5 banks were nationalized on April 15, 1980 (Except SBI Group and IDBI)
To remember the nationalization date of the 19 banks remember this sentence –
“A PUNJABI boy of name VIJAYA is studying COMMERCE in a CORPORATE college of ANDHARA PARDESH.”
The above sentence highlights the names of 5 banks nationalized in April 15, 1980. These 5 banks are –
1) PUNJAB AND SINDH BANK (PUNJABI) (Don’t confuse it with PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK)
2) VIJAYA BANK (VIJAYA)
3) ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE (COMMERCE)
4) CORPORATION BANK (CORPORATE)
5) ANDHARA BANK (ANDHARA PARDESH)
Except these 5 banks (also except SBI group and IDBI) all other 14 banks were nationalized on July 19, 1969
