SSC CGL Tier 2(Mains) Solved Sample Paper (Previous Years’ Question Papers)

Staff Selection Commission will be conducting the SSC CGL Tier 2(Mains) Exam on September 2, 2013. Common Graduate Level Examination consists of three phases:

1) Tier 1(200 marks)
2) Tier 2(400 marks)
3) Interview(100 marks)

Final selection is based on total marks of all three phases. The CGL Tier 1 exam was conducted on April 21 and May 19, 2013. More than 15 lakhs candidates from over India took the examination. You can check out CGL Tier 1 result 2013 here.

Now it is time to prepare for CGL Tier 2. If you did not score good marks in Tier 1 exam, you can easily cover up your marks by scoring good in Tier 2 exam. Tier 2 exam is of 400 marks and consists of only two sections viz. Mathematics and English. So, you can lay out your whole focus on these two sections.

Best Books for SSC CGL Tier 2(Mains) Preparation 2013

Staff Selection Commission conducted the CGL Tier 1 exam on April 21 and May 19, 2013. You can check out SSC CGL 2013 Question papers, answer keys, cutoff and results here. There were mixed emotions from candidates about Tier 1 exam. Some felt April 21 exam was tough and some felt that there was not much difference among the both CGL Tier 1 exam.

Whatever it was, now it is time to start preparing for SSC CGL Tier 2(Mains) exam 2013. You can cover up all the marks you’ve lost in Tier 1 exam easily in Tier 2 exam.

SSC CGL Tier 1 exam was of 200 marks. Now the CGL Tier 2 exam would be of 400 marks. There would be only two sections viz. Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. Both the sections would be of 200 marks.

Here’s the paper pattern of SSC CGL Tier 2(Mains) Exam 2013:

1) Numerical/Quantitative Aptitude: 100 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours
2) English Language: 200 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours

In mathematics, the focus should on four sections viz. Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry and Mensuration. These four sections would carry maximum marks.

If you have opted for Statistical Investigator, there will be a Paper 3(Statistics) also.(200 Marks, 2 Hours)

SSC CGL Solved Previous Question Papers Tier 2(2012) – Quantitative Aptitude

SSC Common Graduate Level Examination will be held in April in 2013. While preparing for SSC CGL exam, it is very important that you go through the previous years’ question papers to get a fair idea about what kind of questions do come in the examination. We have also written a post about the best books for SSC CGL preparation – if you haven’t read it, click here.
Today, I will share SSC CGL Tier 2(2012) Solved Previous Question Paper of Quantitative Aptitude. This examination was held on 16 September, 2012. If many students are to be believed, this was one of the most difficult paper for the quantitative aptitude in the history of SSC exams. The main focus of the paper was on topics like Geometry, mensuration, Trigonometry, etc. So, if you want to secure good marks – you need to work on these topics really hard.
There are 100 questions in this paper and candidates have to attempt those questions in 120 minutes. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 per wrong question.
