SBI PO 2013 – Written Exam Analysis:

Data Sufficiency: As expected, there were not much proper mathematics questions except 1 or 2 but most of the questions were from the Data Interpretation and Sufficiency. This was one of the easiest section of today’s exam as the questions were pretty straight forward with minimal shortcuts required.

English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness: Both the sections were average in difficulty as some of the questions were pretty easy, summed up with some tricky questions. General Awareness section was easier than it was expected before the exam.

Reasoning: As always, Reasoning was the difficult and time consuming section of all. Questions of arrangement again took the lot of time of students.

Verdict: Overall, the difficulty level of exam was average. Definitely, it was easier than the last year’s exam.

Selection Process in SBI PO 2013:

Phase 1: The candidates are required to qualify in the objective tests by securing passing marks, in each of the tests, to be decided by SBI, on the basis of competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level for each category. There will be sectional cut off and a overall cut off.

Descriptive Test of only those candidates will be evaluated who will qualify objective test. There will be minimum cut off in descriptive test too like the objective written exam.

To call the candidates for interview, the aggregate marks of both objective test and descriptive test will be considered i.e. from total of 250 marks.

Phase 2: Three times the number of vacancies would be called for GD and interview. Group Discussion of 20 marks followed by interview of 30 marks.

SBI PO Cutoff 2013:

The minimum cut off for General candidates to be called for GD and interview is expected to be more than 125-130 marks this time around as the exam was relatively easier than the last year’s.
