Best Books for CSIR-UGC (NET) EXAM December 2014

UGC is going to conduct the CSIR-UGC (NET) EXAM FOR AWARD OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURERSHIP. Read the CSIR UGC NET notification here.

CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is conducted by CSIR in the following areas: –

The pattern for the Single Paper MCQ test shall be as given below:-

Ø Part ‘B’ shall contain subject-related conventional MCQs. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200. The maximum number of questions to be attempted shall be in the range of 20-35.

Ø Part ‘C’ shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.

For Indian Military Academy and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics ) or Bachelor of Engineering.
For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering
Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for the Examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing the Degree Examination or equivalent examination by the specified dates.

(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to
combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (II), 2014 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Fee : Pay Rs.200/- either in any branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking of SBI or by using Credit/ Debit card. Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted.

Selection Process :The qualification prescribed is the MINUMUM requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make candidates eligible to take-up the written test. The written test will be conducted on 12-10-2014 [Sunday] at seven venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. However, the Organisation reserves the right tocancel/change the written test venue and re-allot the candidates to any other test centre. The call letters for written test to the short-listed candidates will be sent only by e-mail during the first week of October, 2014. Based on the academic performance, performance in the written test, candidates will be shortlisted for interview, the schedule and venue of which will be notified. Those who secure minimum 50% marks each in both objective and descriptive type questions in the written test will be considered for short-listing for interview. However, depending upon the vacancies to be filled-up in each zone, a higher cut- off percentage may be prescribed. Those who secure minimum 50% marks each in written test and interview with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks will be considered for empanelment in the order of merit, subject to number of vacancies notified. In case, sufficient number of SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-servicemen candidates are not available for filling-up the vacancies reserved for these categories, relaxation will be extended to candidates belonging to the respective category, to make good the short-fall.
