UPSC Civil Services Examination 2013

The Civil Services Examination for the recruitment of various civil job profiles in the Indian government such as Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Forest Service (IFS), Indian Ordinance Factories Service, and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year.

The Civil Services Examination is one of the most toughest and a competitive exam in which candidates prepare very hard by studying rigorously. Check out the selection process of Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC.

Stage 1- Preliminary Exam. This examination is also known as Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). Candidates who will pass this examination will be eligible for the Civil Services Mains Examination.
CSAT has two papers – Paper 1 (General Studies & current affairs – 200 Marks). It is generally very tough.
Paper 2 (General Aptitude- 200 Marks). It is relatively easy. Both the papers are of 2 hours each and objective type. Generally, a combined score from both the papers of around 50% is good enough for general category candidates to qualify for the Mains Exam.

Stage 2- Civil Services Mains Examination. The candidates who clear the CSAT Exam are allowed to appear for the Mains Exam. In this examination, there are a total of 9 papers that you have to take! These papers include:
1 Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper [You have to select your preferred language out of 22 languages] (300 marks)
1 English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
1 General Essay type paper [In the language medium you select] (200 marks)
2 General Studies papers (300 marks each)
4 Optional Subjects papers (300 marks each)[ 2 Optional subjects will be chosen by the candidate and each will two papers of 300 marks]
Total = 2,000 Marks

Stage 3– Interview(In the medium you opt for) and Personality test. (300 Marks)

3) Educational Qualification: A graduation degree from a recongnized Central, or state University.
4) Total Number of attempts allowed:

SC and ST – No limit on np. of attempts

Please note that even attending one paper of CSAT will be considered as one attempt but if you have applied for CSAT but not attended the exam, it will not be considered as an attempt.

Best Books for SBI PO(Probationary Officer) Exam 2013

SBI recently published the recruitment of PO(Probationary Officer) 2013 in a public notice on its official website. State Bank of India invited the applications for the fulfillment of 1500 PO vacancies all over India. SBI is one of the most premier public sector bank in India. The first preference for most of the aspiring candidates of PO post is State Bank of India. But getting selected in SBI is no easy deal.
For starters, SBI test is not conducted by IBPS unlike other public sector banks. SBI conducts its own separate test for the recruitment of PO’s ad clerks. The level of difficulty is also more in SBI PO exam than IBPS PO exam. So, students need to work really hard. The SBI PO Exam 2013 will be conducted on April 28, 2013. LIC ADO 2013 Exam Result Anouunced

LIC ADO 2013 Exam result have been announced. The LIC ADO recruitment exam which was held on February 2 and 3, 2013 is for the selection of Apprentice Development Officers(ADO) all over India. The online written test conducted comprised of 100 questions in two hours. It was one of the easiest test among all government jobs. Many students were happy with their attempts in the written test.

UGC NET Answer Key Announced

UGC(University Grants Commission) has announced the answer key of the NET(National Eligibility Test) held on December 30, 2012. This is the second time that the objective test was conducted for the NET/JRF.
UGC has explained on its official website that the question papers and answer keys for the UGC NET will be available between February 18 and February 26, 2012. You are required to download the PDF of your exam before that if you want to check your correct answers.

If you think any answer is wrong in the answer keys, you can use online feedback system to inform UGC. Click here to visit online feedback system.
No grievance regarding the answer keys will be entertained after February 26, 2013.

The final result will be prepared on the basis of updated answer keys after going through all the grievances. The result would be announced very soon. Do note that this time, only top 15% candidates (for each subject & category), from the merit list, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for lectureship only.
And a separate merit list will be prepared from amongst the NET qualified candidates for the award of JRF.

IBPS PO/MT Common Interview Result Announced

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection(IBPS) has announced the result of the common interview for Recruitment of Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees (CWE-POs/MTs-II) held in the last month. This is the first time, IBPS has conducted a common interview for all the banks. It will save a lot of time for both banks and the candidates in the selection process.
